ubuntu alpha2 lucid lynx : as far as i can tell so far the mail icon for evolution and empathy did not load and neither did the menu used to shut down or restart the computer.

* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?
* What changes were done before attempting to install/upgrade?
* What errors occur when "sudo apt-get upgrade" fails?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.
