dpkg --reconfigure -a fails

Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

When I tried to update graphically i fail so went to the terminal and wrote:
"sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade"
Gets conn to repositories , everything downloaded looked fine but..

"E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem."

trying that and gets this output

"dpkg: ../../src/packages.c:221: process_queue: Försäkran "dependtry <= 4" falsk.
Avbruten (SIGABRT)"

(translation: dpkg: ../../src/packages.c:221: process_queue: ensurance "dependtry <= 4" false.
Aborted (SIGABRT) )

Using Intrepid 8.10 kernel 2.6.27-11-generic
