Tried to install freecol, then 'package libssl1.0.0:i386 1.0.1f-1ubuntu2.16 failed to install/upgrade: package libssl1.0.0:i386 is already installed and configured' and system crashed back to login

Bug Description

I was just trying to install freecol from the app center, but it shouted there was an error with trying to install it. trying to run it nevertheless, i clicked on its icon in the sidebar. It opened, but the intro video froze up, the system became nonresponsive and i got thrown back to login screen.
