Bug Description

This is the "within-release" equivalent to Bug #1173468. An upgrade to kernel 3.8.0 within raring failed because there was no space left on /boot.

It is my recall that upgrades to 3.5.0 automatically cleaned up the old kernel files in /boot. If so, this would make this problem a regression. My memory, however, might be at fault.

for me - manually running 'sudo apt-get autoremove' removed the old and unused kernels - enabling the system to do a proper kernel upgrade.
