Please issue ``apt-get --reinstall install libsdl-net1.2''. I believe you have a local error, since according to the following output the shared library is in the correct location:

$ sudo apt-get -d install libsdl-net1.2 && dpkg-deb -c /var/cache/apt/archives/libsdl-net1.2_1.2.5-6_i386.deb |more
[snip]
-rw-r--r-- root/root 10464 2006-01-10 10:25:53 ./usr/lib/libSDL_net-1.2.so.0
.0.5
[snip]
lrwxrwxrwx root/root 0 2006-01-10 10:25:53 ./usr/lib/libSDL_net-1.2.so.0
 -> libSDL_net-1.2.so.0.0.5
