Bug Description

Binary package hint: dosbox

As of Ubuntu 8.10 (Intrepid Ibex), Dosbox no longer reads the arrow keys correctly on my system. The up arrow is being read as the "printscreen" key, the left arrow is being read as the "left alt" key (and the "left alt" key is being read as "numpad enter"), and the down and right arrow keys are being read as "unknown key", making it impossible to properly bind them with the ctrl-F1 feature.

Apparently Dosbox didn't really change between 8.04 and 8.10, so I have no idea what could be causing this?

according to a report on our forums it seems that issue will be fixed if you set
usescancodes=false in dosbox.conf

You create it as indicated in the README file.

to save you some work

The usescancodes trick only works for US layout keyboards, for all others it will break parts of the layout.
