+1 for the packaging review, looks fine to me.

I’m not quite sure whether we need a separate package just for this, instead of doing the x-kit call in gnome-control-center or whatever the GUI for this will be?

I. e. the blueprint talks about "GUI tools", but current dontzap doesn't have a GUI? is it planned for the dontzap package to grow one, or should that land in some GNOME/KDE control center?

Gnome will have its own GUI while Kubuntu will use dontzap from C++. The patch is already in kdebase-workspace and makes a new checkbox available only if dontzap can be found. Furthermore it checks the exit code of dontzap.

Here's the patch which Jonathan Riddell applied to kdebase-workspace and whose result can be seen in system-settings:

Oh, there's one thing I missed previously: This just ships a script in /usr/bin/, no python modules. So I don't think that this should use python-central, nor ship

  /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/dontzap-0.0.0.egg-info

Please fix this, then I'll upload. Thanks!

Uploaded, shepherded through NEW, and put into main (which is where you need it, I guess).

This seems to be in universe now. Does it need a MIR?

In comment #7 pitti said he put it in main.

But for sake of making the paperwork right, here's a MIR for it:

I reviewew it with my "MIR eyes", too, and actually I intended to put
it in main (the source is, the binary isn't). It's a trivial package.
