Bug Description

Binary package hint: dolphin

I am running Gutsy Kubuntu just for info.

Any time i Open dolphin when i go to close it i get an error stating that

"Unable to save bookmarks in /home/firstc624/.kde/share/apps/d3lphin/bookmarks.xml. Reported error was: Permission denied. This error message will only be shown once. The cause of the error needs to be fixed as quickly as possible, which is most likely a full hard drive."

I have checked my HD and it is not full and i am the only user on this pc. I don't know how to post a log of an error it might have generated so if you need it please list how.

I am getting this error as well. It has never happened before.

One change that I just did today was to format and mount a partition on a second SATA HD. I don't know if that is part of the cause or not. This error message does not appear to affect functionality in any way, but it is annoying.

I'm getting the same error message whenever closing Dolphin 0.9.2 under Gutsy Kubuntu, and my HD isn't full either.

I'm getting this error to on a completely up to date (21-9-2007) gutsy system. I think that this bug is a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dolphin/+bug/136458

I can confirm this bug.
Btw,
When changing permissions, it works OK for the first closing of Dolphin... but then it does the same thing it did before, gives me an error.

I don't think this bug report is a dupe, as the other one refers to users as root. I get this exact same error as a normal user, but not as root.

I've had this error since I first installed the RC of Kubuntu.

Yes, it's a duplicate. The reason you don't get the error as root is because only root can write to the config file.
