Bug Description

Xubuntu 18.04 (Japanese environment)

Kernel version: 4.15.0.20
Docky: 2.2.1.1-1
Thunar: 1.6.15
xfce4-terminal: 0.8.7.3

When "File Manager", "Terminal" is executed, the dock displays "Gear With Rectangle" icon instead of "File Manager", "Terminal" icon.

1. Start "Docky" and display the dock.
Install the docklet's "Recycle Bin".

2. Start the "Text Editor" application.
→ The "Text Editor" icon is displayed in the dock.

3. Launch the "Terminal" application.
→ A gray rectangle containing gear is displayed in the dock.
I think that the icon is "application-x-executable" icon.

4. Start the "File Manager" application.
→ A gray rectangle containing gear is displayed in the dock.

5. In this state, right-click the icon → select "Add to dock".
→ "Gray squares with gears" icon is registered.

6. From the application menu, drag the "File Manager" icon onto the dock to register it.
→ The "File Manager" icon is registered.

7. Left click on the "File manager" icon in the dock to start up.
→ The file manager window opens.
There is an icon of "File Manager" registered in No. 6 in the dock.
However, a "gray square with gears" icon is displayed at a different position.

8. Click the "Recycle Bin" in the dock.
→ The file manager window opens.
There is an icon of "File Manager" registered in No. 6 in the dock.
However, a "gray square with gears" icon is displayed at a different position.

[Recovery procedure]

After I modified the definition file, I returned to the normal icon display.

1. Right-click the Docky icon in the dock → End Docky

2. From the "Terminal" application,

$ sudo mousepad /home/User-Name/.cache/docky/docky.desktop.ja_JP.UTF-8.cache

3. Move the range up to the five items (about 25 lines) at the head of the file, including blank lines, to the end of the file.

[/usr/share/xubuntu/applications/Thunar-bulk-rename.desktop]
[/usr/share/xubuntu/applications/debian-uxterm.desktop]
[/usr/share/xubuntu/applications/debian-xterm.desktop]
[/usr/share/xubuntu/applications/thunar-settings.desktop]
[/usr/share/xubuntu/applications/xfce4-terminal.desktop]

→ There are no icon definitions in these.
Since it is at the beginning of the file, it interferes with the definition at the back.

4. The beginning of the file is now the next application.

[/usr/share/xubuntu/applications/xfhelp4.desktop]

5. Save and overwrite.

---

[Recovering that the icon is displayed at a different position]

In the dock, registering the application icon newly returns to normal.

1. Delete the icons of "File Manager" application and "Terminal" application from the dock.

2. Menu → Accessories → File Manager
I will start "File Manager".

3. Icons are added to the dock. Right click on it → select [Add to Dock].
I can launch multiple "file manager" applications. But there is only one icon.
Docklet's "Trash Bin" also worked normally.

4. Menu → Accessories → Terminal emulator
I will start the "terminal emulator".

5. The icon will be added to the dock. Right-click → Add to Dock.
I can launch multiple "terminal emulator" applications. However, there is only one icon.

The dock returned to normal.
