Thanks for filing this bug in Ubuntu.

The docker service failed to start for some reason, but the logs do not tell why.

Please run the following commands and show us their output:

sudo systemctl stop docker.service
sudo systemctl start docker.service
sudo systemctl status docker.service

Thanks

Since it seems to be running without issues, could you please try to fix the package installation:

sudo apt update
sudo apt -f install

Weird, but ok lets assume there is a strack docker group on your system already that it can't handle.
Can you try removing (or renaming) that group and retry what Andreas suggested in c#4?

@ChristianEhrhardt,

I think you can ignore my comment as I believe it is the result of trying to install from the Docker repository prior to installing from the official Ubuntu repositories.
