fontconfig-config did not install on upgrade from 8.04 to 8.1a2

During update from Ubuntu 8.04 (32Bit) to 8.1 alpha 2 (32 Bit) the update manager reported problems installing the package fonconfig-config several times.
The first time it said something about missing scripts in the package as far as I can remeber.

That's because fontconfig-config 2.6.0-1ubuntu2 fails to install:
