Bug Description
I'm working with nvidia implementation of raid on an Asus MB.
Ubuntu 9.04 standard release with all updates installed as released
With prior ubuntu releases dmraid activated my raid partition at boot without intervention. I was then able to automatically mount them by entering the proper mount instructions in /etc/fstab. That no longer works. The symbolic links for my raid are now absent from /dev/mapper until I manually run dmraid -ay in a terminal. I then have to manually mount each one. This can probably be corrected by editing one of the boot scripts. I am too new and uninformed to dig any deeper without guidance.
A follow up serious issue is why the prior behaviour has been changed with the release of 9.04? This current behaviour is a major obstacle to any one attempting to install to raid0 especially, who is not sufficiently versed in linux/ubuntu to devise a work around (including me). It would be much simpler to the average user if the raid system were automatically detected and activated on boot. These implementation of fakeraid on the motherboard have become ubiquous on current MBs and the general lack reasonably easy and clear processes for handling them will become a major obstacle to all but skilled programers to use ubuntu. This is especially true in an installation process that invites the unwary user to partition their existing raid arrays out of existence! I know this is happening - check the forums.
Although previously reported, I see no evidence that it was fixed as stated!

I have the same problem with Kubuntu 9.04 w/ KDE 4.3.2 using 2 eSATA 1TB Acomdata Puredrives connected to an Addonics ADS3GX4R5-E 4-port eSATA II RAID5/JBOD PCI-X controller. Why the heck is this basic functionality broken? ( other distros, such as Knoppix, have no problems )
Also, why isn't the activated array detected by the device notifier in KDE 4.3.2? -- On my machine it has to be manually mounted. ( after having to manually issue dmraid -ay )
