Bug Description

Binary package hint: dmraid

Hello,

Recently, I have upgraded to Jaunty, but the problem is, that my RAID 0 is not automatically activated and mounted any more. I had never issues with raid in previous Ubuntu versions. Actually I have no problem to activate and mount the raid array manually. The dmraid -ay work like a charm:

vita@desktop:~$ sudo dmraid -ay
sudo dmraid -ay
/dev/sdc: "pdc" and "isw" formats discovered (using isw)!
/dev/sdb: "pdc" and "isw" formats discovered (using isw)!
RAID set "isw_dibahhfhdf_RAID_Seagate_1" was activated
RAID set "isw_dibahhfhdf_RAID_Seagate_11" was activated
RAID set "isw_dibahhfhdf_RAID_Seagate_12" was activated

But i never needed to do this manually before. Is there any way how to automatize the mounting again?

Thanks for your help

Vit

Recently I have found issue which seems quite similar to mine: http://<email address hidden>/msg634988.html however I'm not sure how to fix my problem yet :/

Originally, my array was created using FastTrack integrated controller. Later on, I switched the array as it was to intel IHC. That is probably cause of my problems.

Anyway, this array worked in Interpid and does not work now with Jaunty. I see I'm not the only one having this issues :/

Actually, I was wrong previously. Initially, I build the raid using intel IHC and later on i Siwtched to FastTrak, so command "sudo dmraid -f isw -r -E" helped me. But I feel this is not appropriate solution to search for solution for two days if it worked previously. I will be glad to hear about some generic solution.

Any idea when this is going to make into the repos? I have enabled all the repos, even the proposed updates and still can't see this version in the repos.

I am bumping this back to fix committed, as this hasn't hit the jaunty repos in the past month.

The fixed package is released in Karmic. The bug tracker tracks the development version. A backporting of the fix to Jaunty has already been requested.

When can we expect to see this fix in Jaunty release? I am tired of typing at each boot?

Well you could download the karmic .deb files and install them manually for now:
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26333192/libdmraid1.0.0.rc15_1.0.0.rc15-7ubuntu1_i386.deb
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/26333189/dmraid_1.0.0.rc15-7ubuntu1_i386.deb

They _should_ install fine as I dont think the dependencies have changed.
It will update to the repo version when it is available.
Also you need to enable the backports repo.
