Bug Description

Binary package hint: dkms

Using Ubuntu 9.10
I tried, previously, to install the wireless driver with ndiswrapper, downloading the driver for windows.
As a message said "impossible to verify if the hardware is present" (ok hard translation from portuguese), and at same time said "hardware present: yes"; i tried another way to do it.
Going to the menu option Hardware drivers, they showed me an Wireless Driver Broadcom STA. I tried to "activate" it, but my ubuntu stopped working and the screen became all white. So i forcely restarted it and now, when i try to "activate" it again, the message apears: "SystemError: installArquives() failed"
