This bug prevents the successful installation of recent nvidia cuda toolkit packages (i.e. 8.x) and thus recent technology like Pascal architecture based hardware cannot be used on Ubuntu.

Not sure, why launchpad shows 'Affects: unity' - I definitely selected package 'dkms' ...
