displayconfig-gtk crashed with AttributeError in join()

Bug #145438 reported by earthforce_1 on 2007-09-27
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
displayconfig-gtk (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

Binary package hint: displayconfig-gtk

I am using a Compaq P1100 monitor with a Radeon X850 card, the Compaq P1100 is not in the default menu and there is no option for setting the H and V scan rates manually or entering in a new monitor type. I used the Compaq P1110 which was as close as I could find. The only driver which worked at all was Radeon VESA. It did not autodetect and repeatedly crashed back to the X configuration dialog.

It seems I can't go back to 2048x1536 display mode, I could with the closed source driver and I used to have fglrx working nicely at this resolution in the previous (Feisty) release with Beryl. With the closed source driver I was having problems with the HSync blanking out whenever the screensaver kicked in. Attached below is my original (working feisty) xorg.conf Thus far, it seems everything has gone backwards for me, at least graphics wise.

# /etc/X11/xorg.conf (xorg X Window System server configuration file)
# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
# values from the debconf database.
# Edit this file with caution, and see the /etc/X11/xorg.conf manual page.
# (Type "man /etc/X11/xorg.conf" at the shell prompt.)
# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xorg package upgrades *only*
# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xorg
# package.
# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following command:
# sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
