Bug Description

Binary package hint: digikam-kde4

Digikam, beta1 crashed a lot when I tried it out. For example selecting the "Tags" panel on the left hand side (it was beside other panels such as "album", "calendar", "timeline") always caused a crash (once I'd added some folders to digikam).

Hopefully the auto uploaded info is enough to help with debugging, e.g. stack trace, core dump.

Perhaps these bugs have already been fixed since I notice beta4 has been released, but Intrepid currently has beta1 in the package repository.

Could you test if this is still an issue with Beta 8 using the packages from this ppa: https://launchpad.net/~digikam-experimental/+archive ? (Note that you will need to have KDE 4.2, and that you have to install marble-data to prevent crash at startup - this will be fixed with KDE 4.2-rc packages soon.)
Thanks!

Thanks for pointing out the Digikam PPA which packages beta 8. I'll try it out this week and report back.

I installed digikam 2:0.10.0~beta8-0ubuntu1~intrepid~ppa1, it's a noticeable improvement compared to beta1. Having browsed around the various features available I was unable to make it crash.

I'd consider this bug fixed.
