Feature request: option to disable tag shortcut keys and respective first letter coloring in checklist/menu

In some cases the first letter is not very useful for tag shortcut (e.g. when the first letters are almost all the same or are digits that are different than the number of row).

Ubuntu 14.04 is past end of life.

Debian is the proper place to discuss feature enhancements for dialog,
because Ubuntu is uninvolved.

Oh, but user is not guided to use debian for bug reporting beforehand, but to use launchpad.net:

$ apt-cache show dialog | grep -i bugs

and

$ man dialog | grep -A 2 -i bugs
BUGS
       Perhaps.

Besides, the issue is present in version 1.3-20190808 (focal).
