CPU 100% usage in UML properties dialog

Bug Description

My temperature rapidly increases from 38C to 65C if I leave a properties dialog open. CPU usage is close to 100%, but oscillates.

Even stranger, the temp still spikes when I'm in powersave mode. No other application I have ever used causes the temperature to get this hot when I'm in powersaving mode (800 MHz.)

Specifically it happens in the properties for a UML class object, would have to test to see which properties dialog causes this problem.

Hello here. This problem also affects me. Using Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot 11.10. Radeon HD5730 1GB. Also only when I do Properties for a class object. For example.: in "database" sheet.

Sorry for double post. I forgot to mention, when using that "Properties" meniu for an object it actually makes compiz to use a lot of CPU if I use 0.97.2-5 (tryed version in the repos, was the same, that new version I got from Precise Pangolin archives).

While in the class diagram properties dialog you go to the "Operations" tab and start selecting between the listed operations. The CPU will go to 100%.

NOTE1: This happens also in the attributes tab *if you have* some attributes there (list problem?). If you don't have attributes the are no problems.

NOTE2: When you have only 1 item in the list the CPU problem doesn't appear.

This makes me believe there is a problem with the list control used.

I have a HP 6720s laptop with ubuntu 11.10 64 bit on it. I tested this behavior in both unity and xfce (the interface that I use).

Sorry for creating another bug (945159), but I marked it as duplicate to this one.

For me on 64-bit version it actually hangs up without any response, therefore I registered it as another bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dia/+bug/1181247

Charles Capps, could you please post an example Dia file that demonstrates this problem?
