Bug Description

I got connection to my home WLAN, but no success to connect directly to my ISP.
DHCP was the troublemaker.
This seems to be some generic item... according to google.

My kubuntu-6.06-desktop-i386.iso cd has just one uncommented item in dhclient.conf

request ...

There is weird signs after two keywords routers, and host-name,
In the beginning of new lines following these two keywords.
I removed those signs and took also out all CR & LF etc..

DHCP works after this.

This bug? will cause weird hard to see consequences, because the result depends on how ISP, or whatever DHCP system there is, responds and there is many ways...

This isn't a typo, but is a duplicate of bug 10239. Ubuntu should send the hostname to the DHCP server by default, but doesn't.
