no network connectivity after reboot (Dapper)

Bug Description

Network card gets no address assigned after booting (ifconfig shows no IPv4 address). I Have to maualy do an ifdown+ifup

The network is configured to use DHCP.

The same setting worked fine before but since dapper installed kernel 2.6.15 it does not work any more (problem is probably unrelated to the kernel but it occoured around that time)

Is your hardware clock set to localtime? That would be bug #33968.

Yes, UTC=no is set in /etc/default/rcS. This is a duplicate of bug #33968
