Bug Description

Binary package hint: devede

1) Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS
2) devede package version : 3.16.8-0ubuntu1

When I'm ready to generate the video images, I click on "Next" button in the main DeVeDe window. The process starts, then I am greeted with a pop-up that tells me the above error message (see summary), and the video generation process aborts.

The error message seems to be wrong, as I'm not missing any disk space, and there are no permission problem whatsoever.

When doing apt-get source devede and running the debug-devede script, the resulting devede.debug log contents is:

/usr/lib/devede/devede_other.py:685: GtkWarning: Could not load image 'devede.svg': Impossible d'ouvrir le fichier « /usr/share/devede/devede.svg » : Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type

My excuses, it seems the devede.debug excerpt posted above was incomplete. I have attached the full devede.debug file. The last step before the error message is printed is the creation of the dvd structure by calling DVDAuthor.

This also affects Version 3.16.9-0ubuntu3 in Ubuntu 11.04.

However, this Problem only occurs when I deactivate "creating menus".
When I leave it default (create menus) everything works fine.

It seems dvdauthor does not know if it must choose PAL or NTSC. If the environment variable VIDEO_FORMAT to PAL or NTSC then there is no problem.
If DeVeDe sets this variable according to the chosen format in the UI, before calling dvdauthor, the problem is solved, IMHO.

Upstream website at http://www.rastersoft.com/programas/devede.html reports bug has been fixed in Version 3.17.0 (2011-07-03). From the changelog:

Version 3.17.0 (2011-07-03)
Fixed a bug in MKISOFS, when it shows decimals with a comman instead of a dot
Defines the VIDEO_FORMAT environment variable, needed in current SPUMUX versions
Added bugfix AC3_FIX for current MENCODER versions
Other little bugfixes

Not sure what further testing is required before it gets accepted into the repo.
