Bug Description

I am having issues with the new Ubuntu 13.04 upgrade. I upgraded this weekend at home and had no issues, but when I got to work this morning and tried to setup my laptop with an external monitor, like I have used with Ubuntu 12.10, the both screens are displayed; however, the Launcher sidebar is missing on both monitors and I have no choice but to shutdown the laptop and use only the laptop display. This is an obvious bug in 13.04. Is there a fix yet, and if not, is there at least people working on this issue? Below are my specs resulting from "sudo lshw -C display; lsb_release -a; uname -a". Thanks in advance!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1174368/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

The Package, icc-profiles-displays, is a wild guess. Being nobody was kicking back any activity on the Bug, I thought I'd assign it to a some group, right or wrong. At that point maybe they'll know which Package it rightfully belongs to. You can only hope.

Hello guys,
I Have the same problem.
Every time i plug in a external monitor, the launcher, the menues and the windows frames are missing.
To work normally after that, I have to restart my computer.

I think this error is a compiz problem, because every time when this happend a error is shown, where the Executable Path links to compiz.

I think the problem could be the graphic card: I have a HP Probook 4720s. When I run lspci, the following line shows my grapic card:

`01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI RV710/M92 [Mobility Radeon HD 4350/4550]`

If you need more information, tell me how to gather it and i will post it.
