deskbar-applet hangs after start and 100% cpu usage

Binary package hint: deskbar-applet

LUCID 64-bit:

in karmic i'm using deskbar-applet and after the upgrade to lucid i installed it again. but it hangs right after starting the applet and doesn't react on click. cpu-usage is 100% so i could only kill it.
as another user it works just fine.
i completely removed the deskbar-applet with all settings and installed again, but the problem still exists.
i don't know how to start deskbar-applet from terminal so i don't have any messages...

I got the same behavior on a 32Bit-Lucid box:

Tracker installation seems to be set up as it should be:
- Index is up to date and
- /usr/lib/tracker/trackerd is running
- tracker-search-tool shows nice results

But whenever i try to add the deskbar-applet to my panel, the icon is added and the following process is launched:
/usr/bin/python /usr/lib/deskbar-applet/deskbar-applet/deskbar-applet
