Bug Description

Description: Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS
Release: 14.04

deja-dup:
  Installiert: 30.0-0ubuntu4
  Installationskandidat: 30.0-0ubuntu4
  Versionstabelle:
 *** 30.0-0ubuntu4 0
        500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Deja-Dup still has file size for backups hard-coded?!? but not user-defined.

It is allways good to have a standard that fits for most user, but the ability to define custom sizes for file size in backup without having to rewrite the whole program would be nice.

Please make the filesize for the backups an option in settings tab.

here is a very small patch that just adds a dconf setting. So people who do not care, will not see it. But I need it. I did some backups with 250MB chunks, and I did not notice any slow down vs. 25mb chunks that are the default, but I don't really care how long it takes, I need the big chunks on the other end.

The attachment "patch to add dconf setting so that only advanced users see it." seems to be a patch. If it isn't, please remove the "patch" flag from the attachment, remove the "patch" tag, and if you are a member of the ~ubuntu-reviewers, unsubscribe the team.

It's been six years and this issue remains a considerable problem.

After two years of using Deja Dup on 3 machines I have 2000-5000 files in each backup folder, because each file is only 25MB. Managing such a number, e.g. deleting old files manually, is a nightmare.

Please add this option, or increase the default size. 25MB is tiny as of 2021.
