Too many calls to list backup contents

Bug Description
Seems like duplicity is invoked multiple times for a backup, with --dry-run and whatnot. In the course of that, it does multiple calls to list the contents of the backup folder. For a single incremental backup:
grep -c "https:/

I wonder if it makes sense to cache the result of this call at least for a short period on the client side. I will be looking at what we can do on the server-side about it.
