I've hit the same problem on a 300 MHz Clamshell G3 iBook with a fresh install of Kubuntu. See attached log.

I can't say if the original bug reporter is encountering exactly the same error, but the log matches the extent to which he's described the error (package name and exit code).

I understand PPC is no longer "officially" supported, but, considering how the original reporter encountered the error on I386...
