Bug Description
When using debmirror to create a Debian local repository, here's the error encountered :
Use of uninitialized value $buf in concatenation (.) or string at /home/svc_
Command line used to generate the mirror :
debmirror -a amd64 -d stable,
--method=http --rsync-extra=none --i18n --di-dist=buster \
--progress /var/lib/

This was resolved in upstream commit b50e8880 (https:/ /salsa. debian. org/debian/ debmirror/ -/commit/ b50e8880a187ee5 b9e1507201c0815 dcd4baf63f) and released as part of version 1:2.28. This resolution is already available as part of the 1:2.33 merge included in Ubuntu Hirsute (21.04).
Considering this does not block execution and instead serves as a warning (as Perl simply assumes an empty/0-length initial string for the uninitialized value), this does not appear to directly warrant an SRU (no security vulnerability, no severe regression, no loss of user data, no changes in the environment).
