Bug Description

Following this test case:
http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/204/builds/13085/testcases/1173/results

The installation runs smoothly, but the machine will not boot when restarted. Instead it shows the grey screen that is normal after power cycling the machine. After a while a blinking icon of a folder with a question mark comes on the screen.

It is possible to boot to the newly made partition (or the old one) by booting first to the installation CD and then choosing boot from first hard drive. In this way the grub menu can be reached. Running update-grub has no effect.

This seems somewhat similar to #948823
