Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

While attempting to use the alternate image from today (2011-02-21) to perform an installation, a dialog appears stating:

"No kernel modules were found. This probably is due to a mismatch between the kernel used by this version of the installer and the kernel version available in the archive."

Since in the certification lab we are installing from a network mirror, the installation can't proceed further.

I checked and, indeed, the kernel that boots is 2.6.38-3 and the modules in pool/main/l/linux are for 2.6.38-4. The desktop installer, on the other hand, is using 2.6.38-4.

md5 checksum for the image I used is:
65a18133cded2120120056a5ee22d633 *natty-alternate-i386.iso

For 2011-02-22 the images didn't change (as verified with the checksums), so the problem still remains :(
