Bug Description

Binary package hint: debian-installer

Using the Java remote console provided by ASUS ASMB3-iKVM unit.
It displays BIOS, POST and initial install screens fine, but once it gets into the debian installer screens (red/blue) the display is all messed up. It comes across as 648x481 and it seems the extra pixel (481 not 480) may be causing the screen to zag across. Unusable.

I found some vague reference to the problem on ASUS website: http://support.asus.com/faq/asus-faq.aspx?type=1&no=897CAD71-0440-5AE7-32EC-3C4A3CEAB7C7&model=ASMB4-iKVM&SLanguage=en-us
which indicates the ASPEED vga driver should be used. Well, how does that happen at install time?

Attaching a screenshot of the display problem.

Please review and decide whether it is something that can/should be fixed.
Thanks.

P.S. This also happens with Debian 5.04 netinst. However booting Debian with the "Graphical Expert" mode (which I suppose is akin to "installgui") is a viable workaround.
