This bug was fixed in the package debian-installer - 20100211ubuntu4

debian-installer (20100211ubuntu4) maverick; urgency=low

  * Remove dtmenu.cfg from default menu.cfg; it isn't used in Ubuntu and it
    confuses gfxboot-theme-ubuntu (LP: #588221).

It happens with "Maverick amd64 alternate CD (20100601)" too.

Colin Watson (cjwatson) wrote :

That's because I didn't fix it until after that CD image was built.
