Hit this while installing Lucid Server from today's build.

cdrom is an IDE Asus DRW2014L1 which operates correctly under 9.10 and earlier.

This also affects the PowerPC port.

The workaround is to decline to try loading drivers from removable media, then to accept the option to select loadable modules. At that point the only offer (on the PPC) was "none". Select that and the next dialog requests the device name of the CD-ROM drive.

In the case of the iMac G4 PowerPC it is "/dev/hdb" (which can be determined by switching to tty2 (Alt+F2), pressing Enter to start a busybox prompt, and then doing "ls -l /dev/?d?" and looking for sdX or hdX devices that *are not* the hard drive.

Is this still an issue with Bug #546929 fixed in beta2?
