installer should prompt all questions up front

Bug Description

This is more of a feature request than a bug.

When installing from the alternate CD, there are some questions that are prompted for well into the installation process, for example, username creation.

It would be great if all questions were asked up front so one could confidently walk away and upon returning find out that the installation is nowhere near complete because questions needed to be answered.

Thanks!
-berto.

I'm not going to close this, but don't expect this any time soon, or indeed possibly ever. Moving specifically the user/password questions wouldn't be too difficult, but moving things like bootloader questions that show up on certain installation paths is very difficult and involves a lot of plumbing work that's very low-priority.

Oh, in case the reasons aren't obvious, it's because the inputs required to decide whether or how to ask some of those questions can depend on things that are difficult to determine until after partitioning, or because some of these questions are asked using tools that aren't available until after the base system has been installed. It's always *possible* to move things but at the moment my assessment is that we have many bugs that are more important.
