debian-installer on Trusty doesn't work on nvme hard drives

Bug Description

Preseeded installs to "the default hard disk" don't select an nvme drive, even if it's the only one present. They should.
This prevents automated installs to machines with nvme SSDs, such as modern laptops and some high-end workstations.

Perhaps this is related to bug 1642903.

I don't think so. That bug talks about whether /dev/disk/by-id/ symlinks are created by udev, whereas our internal fix, which was a backport of the fix in Xenial IIRC, simply added /dev/nvme* to the set of patterns that autoselected disks can match.

However, I readily admit my own ignorance of debian-installer, so it may be related in ways I don't realise.
