Bug Description

When installing Ubuntu Wily (15.10) via PXE/netboot the installer does not detect the internal disk automatically.
It will show the "Detect disks" menu for choosing a disk driver.
If one chooses "<Go Back>" to "Ubuntu installer main menu" then "Detect disks" again, then the disk is found and automatic installation continues.

Very seldom the installer detected the internal disk automatically, but i was not able to find a pattern.

This behaviour is not observed with Ubuntu Trusty and Vivid.

Hardware are Dell Latitude Laptops (E7450 and E6420) with the usual SSD harddrives.

Please let me know if you need further informations.

Thanks

Martin

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1504035/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Had two machines install the new image without this issue.
Tried it again right away and both failed.
Tried it again. Again both failed to detect disks.
