Bug Description

I just downloaded today's vivid amd64 server image (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/cdimage/ubuntu-server/daily/20150114/) and selected OEM mode in gfxboot. d-i asked me for an user name/password, but not an OEM user password or the OEM label, nor did it write "OEM" anywhere, so this looks like OEM mode isn't working.

After the install finished, there is indeed no oem user nor oem* package installed.

This shows that I did select OEM mode in gfxboot, but it didn't have any effect.

Ah, this is quite interesting. I was seeing the same issue with OEM, as well as with accessibility features, etc. I had not noticed that these settings are added after the -- separator.

This would most likely be caused by the same thing as I just fixed in d-i -- the kernel strips out anything after "--"; so if one edits the separator to be --- on the command line and tries to use the boot menu options, they will work.

I'm marking this as a duplicate of bug 1427252; the fix should make it in the archive soon, and following that new images should work properly.
