netboot no fallback to manual net config

after failing dhcp, it plows ahead without doing manual net configuration. of course, as a result, it is unable to contact any mirror.

What kind of setup are you using? I would half-expect that for a netboot install, given that it requires the network in the first place, it should still be available to be used.

Is it possible if you go to another VT during the install that the ethernet devices have changed order, and that if you were to bring up eth1 (for example) rather than eth0 then you could get on with DHCP?

didn't netboot fallback to manual net configuration in the past?

the box being installed was the one that serves DHCP. no other DHCP service available.

so i had to find a different installer to use, either that or setup dhcp on some other box
