Bug Description

I am trying to remotely install a system using cobbler and a precise mini i386 image with md5sum e4d16caf537be112f3dc9ba94e158cf7. When I use that image to install a virtual machine, it works fine. When I use the image on a physical machine, choose-mirror fails. It runs:
wget -w http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/precise/Release -O - | grep -E '^(Suite|Codename):'
which outputs:
Suite: precise
Codename: precise
After this, it tries to run:
wget -w http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/generic26/Release -O - | grep -E '^(Suite|Codename):'
and fails because there is no generic26 directory.

On a virtual machine, the first download correctly sets the Suite and Codename, and the install proceeds from there. I have verified that the md5sum of the output of the command on the physical and virtual machines matches, but choose-mirror appears to be interpreting them differntly. I can send along the preseeds I am using if that helps, but no preseed changes I have so far discovered will make the physical machine work.
