Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-applets

Running Ubuntu 9.04, I wanted to fix an issue with applets (I have added several times Pam Pilot Applet since it is invisible). First I tried to run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure gnome-applets" in a terminal, but it did not work (when terminal was launched from graphical environment, it displayed a message about changing CPU frequency??? And after opening a terminal session with Ctrl + Alt + F1, it returned me a message telling that a config file was loachked). Then I went to SYnaptics, I hit "Apply" and the update process started, but failed.

reassigning to debconf since the error seems due to some locking, that's probably the wrong component but the maintainer will have a better idea maybe there

affects: gnome-applets (Ubuntu) → debconf (Ubuntu)
