This is what I did:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-xen-desktop xen-hypervisor-amd64

On a fresh install of Ubuntu Studio.

This is what I get with dpkg --configure --pending:

I found the problem: I was running tasksel in another terminal, as a user. I didn't know running tasksel without privileges could mess up a configure script.

Steps to reproduce:

1. run tasksel (not as root)
2. install (or configure) bridge-utils

I'm not 100% sure if this is a bug with debconf, tasksel or bridge-utils.
