I was trying to fix an issue with installing a virtual machine so i don't know if this is somehow related but whenever i use my the laptop this error pops up

The logs do not say which other process locked debconf. I'll re-assign the bug to debconf. To fix the locking issue: Retry the installation. It that does not help, reboot and retry.
