Bug Description

Binary package hint: ddclient

dpkg-reconfigure this package only supports checking the IP address via hardware - that is, use=if.
There's no way to set use=web or use=linksys except by manually editing /etc/ddclient.conf.

As is stated on http://www.dyndns.com/support/kb/using_ddclient_with_dyndns_services.html, use=if is only appropriate if one does not have a router/firewall, which need not be the case.

This is a more general bug than bug 3429.
