dbus-daemon and gnome-system-monitor peg the CPU at 100%

Bug Description

I recently upgraded to 11.10 and now, whenever I open gnome-system-monitor, dbus-daemon will continuously use 65%-75% of the CPU, while the system monitor will stay at a steady 32%. I will also not be able to close the system monitor without manually killing the process (it will ignore any efforts to kill it through gnome). However, if I run top, I can see that dbus-daemon does not even appear on the list until I run the system monitor, so it looks like the system monitor itself is the culprit.

I was also experiencing this problem, same specs as OP.

I found after researching the same issue it related (for some people) to having a audio CD moutned in their cd drive.
This wasn't the case for me - it was due to my iPhone being connected.

I would suggest unmounting devices and seeing if it resolves the issue for you.. Well, as a work around at least.
