Bug Description

Binary package hint: initramfs-tools

Just ran update/upgrade on this 10.04 install. Got an error at the end that had "bad hash sum".

Reboot, login came up, entered password, screen went to gdm background and hung. Had to Alt+SysRq+b out of it (Ctrl+Alt+F1 through F6 had no responce).

Reboot to recovery, ran dpkg oprtion. No errors.

Text login and startx. Went great.

Got this apport message.

Pretty much the same deal on the same hardware, different 10.04 install.

Main difference - clean update/upgrade today and a clean, normal boot to desktop.
