Bug Description

I use Ubuntu 10.10 and had the same problem on old versions.

The double click timeout set with the mouse preferences doesn't work for all applications like these in Java (I firstly saw this problem in NetBeans).

Since the timeout is to short it is not possible to do a double click with the touchpad and we have to be fast with the mouse...

To modify this value I added the file Xresources as it is explained in this blog:
http://jelmer.jteam.nl/2008/10/13/descrease-the-double-click-speed-for-java-applications-on-ubuntu-linux/

But why such a file isn't created directly by the mouse preferences?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Same on Ubuntu 11.04 and NetBeans IDE 7.0. The fix described in the blog post resolved the issue after restarting NetBeans.
