saslauthd can't be started after installation

Bug Description
On installation dpkg shows:
> sasl2-bin (2.1.23.
> update-rc.d: warning: saslauthd stop runlevel arguments (0 1 6) do not match LSB Default-Stop values (1)
> * To enable saslauthd, edit /etc/default/
saslauthd will not be started automatically on startup ans *also* can't be started manually as long as START=yes is not set.

This is been this way since at least 10.04.
I say its only moderately annoying that in order to start it via init script you must enable it to start on boot.
