hello, i'm new at ubuntu .
Now i have the problem that i don't get my printer to work .
Its a lexmark z55 and there are no drivers .
I'll find a driver on lexmark page , but when i tried to do what the reading file says
In general, to install Z55 CUPS Printer Driver, you run
the following command:
- tar xvfz CJLZ55LE-
- sh lexmarkz55-
nothing happens
how can i install a lexmark z55 printer
Please help me

Hmm this was phrased more as a support request than a bug. There's some bad news too.
Lexmark inkjets (and their rebranded Dell equivalents) are notoriously hard to get working with Linux due to a lack of open source drivers or specs. Lexmark only provide a binary lump that has aged poorly and no longer easily installs with new versions of CUPS. Specs for the printers are not forthcoming because (apparently) the technology inside the drivers confers a competitive advantage to Lexmark. If you want to give it a go (I can't say I rate your chances highly) you can try following http:// www.linuxprinti ng.org/ lexmark- faq.html# s_15 but I personally don't think it's worth the effort.
