Bug Description

When I try to print from Ubunutu Linux (i386) onto my Canon BJ10e I get garbage. This
printer is recognised by CUPS and has been supported by Linux distributions for as
long as I can remember.

I'm not sure exactly where the problem lies - updating all the relevant packages to
the most recent version makes no difference, and the generated PPD file looks OK.

It may assist you to know that this problem is also experienced with the current
version of Kanotix, but not with either Xandros 3.0, MEPIS 3.1.1, SUSE 9.2 or Fedora
Core 4.

Can you post your

files?

Does this problem also exist on an up-to-date Edgy?

I haven't tried this on Edgy. The problem was with Hoary; however, I have no
problems printing with the same printer using Dapper. So the problem appeas
to have been resolved in that release, at least - I never installed Breezy.

So we should mark it as Hoary (5.04) bug.

Closing since it is fixed in Dapper and Edgy. This is not the type of problem we fix in stable releases anyway.

@Till: You can create stable tasks, too, just use 'Backport Fix to Releases...' in the menu bar)
