For me the file prints correctly in reverse order. pdftops takes 100% CPU but only for around 5 seconds.

Please follow the instructions in "CUPS error_log" and "Capturing print job data" of https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems for this job. Thanks.

The error_log makes the impression that the job got correctly printed in 8:30 min. What is the problem? Did it not come out correctly?

For how long time was the CPU on 100 %? Was the system not responsive through that time?

The printer does nothing. In the 8 minutes the CPU load at 100% but the system responds normally. For this test I have given only page 101 and 102 in order.

Sounds like a cairo problem. Does it work better on Natty?

On my Dell Laptop printing through Foomatic driver, pdftops takes the cpu usage to 100% and printing a single page takes about 15 seconds (to send it to the printer).

Here my cups error log

@ Juanma - You seem to be using a Samsung-CLP-310-COLOR printer. As this is different hardware (and from a different manufacturer) from that used by the original reporter, you should open a new bug report.

Can you try live CDs of Natty and Oneiric. In these versions (especially Oneiric) several improvements in the print file generation and print filtering workflow were done which should have improved printing performance.

Hi,

I have just reinstalled Lucid, and this time I did not install the Samsung Linux drivers, but used the ones the distro comes with. Now printing is faster, much faster.

I guess there is something wrong with the Samsung drivers.

So, forget my contribution to this bug.

THanks 4 the help!
